Management of Root Perforation : A Case Report

چکیده

Background : Root perforation results in the communication between root canal walls and periodontal space (external tooth surface). It is commonly caused by an operative procedural accident or pathological alteration (such as extensive dental caries, external internal inflammatory resorption). The diagnosis of pulp and/or periapical tissue previous to important predictor prognosis. Case A female patient came Dental Conservative University Airlangga with complaints perforated lower left molars. On objective examination obtained negative vitality test, positive on bite test. radiographic examination, a radiolucent bifurcation was performed management treated hemisection. treatment carried out distal canals. Afterwards, split mesio-distally. mesial extracted, retained restored PFM Crown. Discussion Hemisection useful alternative extraction save multi-rooted teeth endodontic approach, which includes remaining roots restoring them suitable restorative material splinting it adjacent decrease risk displacement followed fixed prosthodontic prosthesis maintain occlusal balance. Conclusion subsequent prosthetic rehabilitation can be viable retain severely decayed mandibular molar.
